தமிழக முஸ்லிம் பிரமுகர் ஒருவர் இலங்கையில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட்டதை எதிர்த்து காத்தான்குடியில் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம்.
இலங்கைக்கு விஜயம் செய்த முஸ்லிம் பிரமுகர் ஒருவர் இந்தியாவுக்கு திருப்பி அனுப்பப்பட்டதை எதிர்த்து மட்டக்களப்பு மாவட்டம் காத்தான்குடியில் இன்று முஸ்லிம்கள் ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர்.
கடந்த சில தினங்களாக இலங்கையில் தங்கியிருந்த தமிழ் நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த இஸ்லாமிய மார்க்க அறிஞர்களிலொருவரான பி.ஜெயினுலாப்தீன் அவர்கள் தமது சொந்த நாடான இந்தியாவிற்கு திருப்பியனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டமைக்க கண்டனம் தெரிவித்தே இன்று மட்டக்களப்பு காத்தான்குடி பிரதேச முஸ்லிம்களால் இந்த ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
கடந்த 14ஆம் திகதி இந்தியாவிலிருந்து இலங்கை சென்றிருந்த இவர் முஸ்லிம்கள் வாழும் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளுக்கு சென்று இஸ்லாமிய எழுச்சி மாகாநாடுகளிலும், கருத்தரங்குகளிலும் கலந்து கொண்டு உரையாற்றியிருந்தார்.
குறிப்பாக இஸ்லாத்தின் அடிப்படைக் கொள்கை திருக்குர்-ஆனும் நபிகளின் போதனையும் தான் என்றும்,, இறைநேசர்களின் வணக்கத் தலங்களான கபுறு வணக்கம் போன்றவற்றை பின்பற்றத் தேவையில்லை என்றும் இவர் வலியுறுத்தி வந்ததாக, இவரது உரைய கேட்ட முஸ்லிம்கள் கூறுகின்றார்கள்.
கொழும்பில் இவர் தங்கியிருந்த ஹோட்டலுக்கு நேற்று பிற்பகல் பொலிஸார் சகிதம் சென்ற குடிவரவு, குடியகல்வு திணைக்கள அதிகாரிகள் இவரை அழைத்துச் சென்று இன்று அதிகாலை சென்னைக்கு புற்பட்ட விமானமொன்றில் இந்தியாவிற்கு திருப்பியனுப்பி வைத்தனர்.
இதனை கண்டிக்கும் வகையில் இன்று காத்தான்குடியில் நடை பெற்ற ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டவர்கள் இவர் திருப்பியனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டமைக்கு ஆளும் கட்சி அரசியல் செல்வாக்கு பின்னனியில் இருப்பதாக குற்றமும் சுமத்தினார்கள்.
காத்தான்குடி மெத்தைப் பள்ளிவாசலிலிருந்து பிரதேச செயலகம் வரை நடைபெற்ற இந்த ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தின் முடிவில் ஆளும் கட்சியில் செல்வாக்கு மிக்க முஸ்லிம் அரசியல்வாதியொருவர் உட்பட மூவரின் கொடும்பாவிகள் எரிக்கப்பட்டன.
பிரதேச செயலாளரிடம் இது தொடர்பாக ஜனாதிபதிக்குரிய மகஜரொன்றும் கையளிக்கப்பட்டது.
இதற்கிடையில் அம்பாறை மாவட்டம் அக்கரைப்பற்றில் இன்று பொலிஸ் வீதித்தடையொன்றில் 28 வயது முஸ்லிம் இளைஞரொருவர் பொலிஸாரின் துப்பாக்கிச் சூட்டுக்கு இலக்காகி காயமடைந்துள்ளார்.
இவரும் மற்றுமொருவரும் பயணம் செய்த மோட்டார் சைக்கிள் தமது தடை உத்தரவை மீறிச் சென்ற சமயம் நிறுத்துவதற்காக அதன் டயரை நோக்கி துப்பாக்கிப் பிரயோகம் செய்யப்பட்டதாக பொலிஸார் கூறுகின்றார்கள்.
ஆனால் தாங்கள் நிறுத்துவதற்கு தயாரான போது இந்த துப்பாக்கிப் பிரயோகம் செய்யப்பட்டதாக குறிப்பிட்ட இளைஞர்கள் கூறுகின்றார்கள்.
அக்கரைப்பற்று பொலிஸார் விசாரணைகளை மேற்கொள்கின்றார்கள்.

Islamic preacher from south India deported

A Muslim priest from south India, Maulvi Jainulabdeen was deported by Sri Lanka's immigration authorities following complaints about his preaching methods.
The Maulvi had been staying in Sri Lanka for the last two weeks and spreading the message of Koran's teachings. He underlined the fact that when one communicates with Allah, no intermediaries were necessary.
However, this line of thought fell foul with certain Islamic establishments close to the seat of political power in Sri Lanka.
Yesterday, during a preaching get together in Maradana, Colombo, the Maulvi's meeting was disrupted by a slogan shouting group which denounced him. In the fracas that ensued, two organizers were injured.
Police moved swiftly and arrested Jainulabdeen.
Subsequently, he was deported today.

Hundreds of Muslims in the eastern part of Sri Lanka agitated against the deportation of Indian Islamic preacher Maulvi Jainulabdeen in Batticoloa.
Muslims from Kathankudy and other parts of eastern Sri Lanka shouted slogans against Islamic leaders of Sri Lanka Alvi Maulana, Maulvi Niyaz of Colombo and AL Zahiya of Kathankudy.
The demonstrators reached the provincial secretariat in Batticoloa, and handed over a protest note to the authorities.
Effigies of the aforesaid Islamic leaders of Sri Lanka were later burnt publicly by the agitators.

The Sri Lankan Government on Wednesday deported P Jainulabdeen, a leading Islamic preacher from Tiruchi in Tamil Nadu, for causing religious disaffection and misusing his tourist visa. Informed sources told Hindustan Times said that the Tamil language preacher, better known as "PJ", had arrived in Sri Lanka on a tourist visa but had gone about preaching openly in various parts of the country in violation of the conditions of that visa. His fundamentalist talk had also triggered protests from sections of the Muslim community in the island, who belonged to rival Jamaats and schools of thought. The conflict resulted in violence at a meeting in Colombo on Tuesday in which one of the organisers was wounded. The police stopped the programme and PJ was deported to India the next day. In protest against the deportation, there were demonstrations in Kathankudy, a Muslim majority town in Batticaloa district in eastern Sri Lanka on Wednesday, according to the Thinakkural daily.
